Summer Job Fairs
High school students are eligible to interview for summer school teacher assistant programs at the elementary and middle school levels. Job Fairs for these positions will be held from 6:00pm - 8:00pm on the following dates:
Thursday, March 22 - Stonewall High
Tuesday, March 27 - Freedom High
Don't Miss the "Hum & Yum"!
This Friday evening, the Patriot Choral Department will sponsor its first annual "Hum &Yum" at 7:00pm in Commons 2. Come hear choir students perform songs by Adele, One Republic, Bruno Mars, Rhiannah, Christina Perry, and more! You can purchase tickets for $5 at the door. There will be complimentary mini muffins, coffee, and hot chocolate for all in attendance. Please use Entrance 28. See you there!
Congratulations Patriot Players!
Congratulations to the Patriot Players who earned 2nd place in the Northwestern Region and advance to the state championship in Charlottesville on March 3. Only EIGHT schools in the entire Commonwealth qualify to compete in the state championship, so this is no small feat by Patriot's inaugural thespian group! Click here for additional information.
PWCS E-News
Parents can sign up to receive email and text messages regarding PWCS news and annoucements, as well as school closings or emergency information. Many parents indicated that this service was very helpful in keeping them informed when Patriot was briefly evacuated February 20. Click here for information and directions about this service.
Parent Portal & Schoolfusion Passwords
Students use the same username and password to login to both Parent Portal and Patriot's Web page (Schoolfusion). For security reasons, it is very important to change your password from the password that you were provided with at the beginning of the year. Click here learn how to change your password. Yearbooks Still Available for Sale
Patriot parents, students, and staff -- even though the online yearbook sales have ended, yearbooks CAN still be purchased. Just go to the Yearbook Web page to download the order form. Order forms and payment can be turned into the front office. You definitely don't want to miss getting your copy of this inaugural edition!
Activity Bus Availability
Beginning the week of February 20, because of low demand, activity busses will no longer be offered on Wednesdays. Activity buses will continue to run every Thursday afternoon.
Rachel's Challenge - Start a Chain Reaction
Students and members of Patriot's community are encouraged to remember the message from the "Rachel's Challenge" presentation -- that it is important to create a permanent positive culture change by starting a chain reaction of kindness and compassion. That way, we can all "have each other's back"!
AP Scholars and Letters of Intent
Current AP Scholars do not need to reapply or resubmit transfer requests. However, please make sure that you return your letter of intent to Ms. Martin to secure your place in the program next year, if you have not done so already. If you need a letter of intent, you can pick them up in the main office or click here to download. You must return the letter of intent even if you do not wish to stay in the program.
Patriot Prom Information
Patriot's Prom will be held April 28 at Patriot High School. Cost per ticket is $30 individual/$50 for two. Dance contract forms must be completed and returned prior to purchasing prom tickets. Any guest who does not attend Patriot High School or who is a 9th or 10th grader at Patriot High School needs to have a completed a Prom guest form before his/her ticket can be purchased. All forms must be returned to the Patriot library by March 15, 2012. Questions on these forms may be directed to Mrs. Emily Utter.
Parent Portal Improvements
Communication between parents, students, and school is an essential part of the educational process. In an effort to improve and enhance communication opportunities, PWCS has updated this year's new Parent Portal system to include information not previously available. AgDiscovery Program
AgDiscovery, a 2-3 week summer camp for middle and high school students, is a great opportunity for youth with an interest in Agriculture/Veterinary medicine and other agriculture-related fields. Click here for more information.
2012-2013 Course Request Information
The 2012-2013 course request process is underway. Students are meeting and will continue to meet with their counselors during February to select their 2012-2013 courses. Please click here for additional information and helpful documents.
