Parents, ask your children about their Explorer Passports
Explorer Passports will be delivered to schools on Friday, May 18. The Passports give children free admission to parks and attractions in Prince William County. Start off this Saturday at the HCHY EXPO at Pfitzner Stadium, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. View map of activities and schedule of events.

7 Habits Video Contest
Patriot's Video Media Tech class is coordinating a school-wide 7 Habits Video contest, in which all students may participate! All you have to do is submit a 3-5 minute video to Mrs. Cardamone by Friday, June 1, demonstrating the benefits of enacting the 7 Habits philosophy. 2012 Summer Reading/Assignments

SOL Testing Starts May 9 - UPDATED
End of Course SOL exams will be administered to Patriot students starting May 9. Please click here for the detailed SOL testing schedule, with subject-specific test dates. Students will receive testing room locations and lunch times from their individual teachers. And here is a great list of SOL test preparation resources including practice tests!
Memorial Day is May 28
Monday, May 28, is the Memorial Day Holiday. There is no school that day. Please have safe long weekend.

Patriot Students Showcased in Video
Chef Stevenson and the students enrolled in Patriot's Culinary Arts program were recently video taped for a video for the Virginia Department of Education. The purpose of the video is to showcase some of the wonderful programs, like our Culinary Arts Program, programs offered here in PWCS. Click here to watch the video.
Patriot Athletes Spend a Day at T. Clay
Patriot's football and soccer teams spent Saturday, April 28, participating in our neighboring T. Clay Woods Elementary School's Wellness Fair. Both big and little kids all had a blast. Click here for pictures from the day.
Important Dates for Parent Portal
PWCS Parents - If you have not registered for Parent Portal, yet, now is the time!
Friday, June 1 - Parent Portal registrations and online contact editing will be turned off and no further registrations or edits will be accepted until after the new school year transition. This means that no new parent accounts can be created until fall
Monday, June 18 - All updates to Parent Portal will stop.
HCHY Healthy Youth Expo May 19
PWCS and the Greater Prince William Healthy Communities' Healthy Youth Council will host the HCHY EXPO, May 19, Pfitzner Stadium Complex, 10:00am-4:00pm. The purpose of this event is to provide a local venue for families to enjoy outdoor activities, learn about summer programs for youth, and gather important school-related information in preparation for the fall. Please contact Debbie Bishop for further info.
Virtual High School Summer Courses
Take a course and earn full credit this summer from any location with Internet access. Registration for the Virtual High School summer session opens on April 17. The VHS @ PWCS offers 22 full credit courses during the six-week summer session. Registration closes June 23. Register EARLY as courses can fill quickly. Visit the Virtual HS website for details and registration.
