​Patriot Students Earn Coveted Industry Credential with Microsoft IT Academy

With Virginia's new industry credential graduation requirement, students are clamoring to get their Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Certification. MOS credential holders are recognized world-wide as possessing technical skills and expertise in Microsoft Office Software. Office365 and Microsoft Office 2015

This year, in addition to their Patriot Google Apps account, PWCS has provided students with Microsoft Office365 accounts. With this account, students may download Microsoft Office 2013 on up to five of their personal devices. Spirit Night at Chipotle!

Join your fellow Pioneers at Chipotle Tuesday, February 3, 5:00-9:00pm. Half of all proceeds from this even will benefit Patriot's Culinary Arts program! Click here for the flyer.
Updating Email Addresses in Schoolfusion

Parents/Guardians and students: Did you know you CAN add or change your email address for Schoolfusion? You actually do it through your Parent Portal account and then it is copied over to Schoolfusion. Click here for directions.
Course Requests for 2015-2016

Scheduling for 2015-2016 is just around the corner! Teachers are currently making their course recommendations for their students. Students will be able to review those recommendations, and make additional course requests, through Parent Portal January 31 through February 5. Touch Base Program February 9

The Touch Base Program will be February 9, 7:30-9:30am. This event allows parents/guardians an opportunity to make quick contact with their child's teachers. Click here for more information.

Suicide Prevention Program at Reagan MS

There will be an SOS: Signs of Suicide Prevention Program, Depression Awareness & Self-Injury Information Night for parents and PWCS staff Wednesday, February 18, 6:00pm, and Ronald Reagan Middle School. Click here for the details.
Girls Basketball "Red Out" for Heart

On February 3, be sure to wear your RED to the Girls Basketball game to promote Heart Health Awareness! Certain shirts will even earn you 50% off admission. Click here for more information.
Winter Wellness Fair

The Patriot High School Wellness committee and HCHY Student L.E.A.D. with Marstellar Middle School and T. Clay Woods Elementary School are hosting a Winter Wellness Fair. If you have questions about health, fitness, or diet, this is the event for you! Click here for the details.

FAFSA Info Session

There will be FAFSA informational sessions at Stonewall Jackson High School Saturday, February 7, 9:00am-noon. Click here for more information.
Coat Drive

The Math Honor Society is sponsoring a coat drive! Please donate gently used coats starting Wednesday, January 21, through Friday, February 6. All sizes are welcome! There will be a donation bin in the office and in room 2020. The coats will be donated to local homeless shelters and organizations. The coats will go to people who cannot afford a warm jacket for this winter season.
Warning Flashers Time Change

BLAST Application Available

Applications for the summer Building Leaders for Advancing Science & Technology (BLAST) Program are now available. This is a wonderful opportunity, held on Virginia college campuses, for current 8th & 9th graders interested science & technology. Click here for more information.
Culinary 1 & 2 Applications Available

Students interested in applying for Patriot's Culinary 1 or Culinary 2 programs must complete the applications by March 31.

New AP Capstone Course at Patriot!

AP Capstone Seminar is a new course debuting at Patriot in 2015-16. The course is open to rising 11th graders currently interested in a challenging course focusing on the research process. Students will analyze and evaluate information in order to effectively communicate evidence-based arguments in both oral and written form.  Visit the AP Capstone Seminar site for more information.


UVa Society of Women Engineers

The Society of Women Engineers at the University of Virginia invites high school junior and sophomore girls to apply for a place in their High School Visitation Program taking place February 28. Click here for the flyer.
AP Scholars & PLTW applications

The application for AP Scholars and Project Lead the Way is available for students zoned to attend Patriot. If you encounter a certificate error page, please click "Continue to this website." The site is secure. If you would like to apply to BOTH AP Scholars and PLTW, please select the appropriate option on the application's drop-down menu. If you are not zoned for Patriot you will not have the ability to select a Patriot Specialty Program as we are closed to transfer students for the 2015-16 school year.
